Recently, I have helped someone who my friends and I have no real affection for. Often times I am met with no gratitude from the person and disgust from friends. I am always asked "Why bother? She's so mean, especially to you". I have asked myself the same question as they have and finally come up with an answer:
You don't need a reason to be a decent human being.
Even if the person hasn't been that kind to me in the past, that won't hinder me from helping those in need. That would be going against who I am. I'm not naive, she'll still probably be cruel to me, but I can always have hope that a single act of kindness might change the playin
